Vietnam | Event: Bilateral Meeting for GCoM Asia Project Implementation in Vietnam

Continuing from the successful IUC Asia Project, the European Union (EU) extends its support through the implementation of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM) in Asia Project, to engage and train Asian cities in Southeast Asia, South Asia, and East Asia, including in Vietnam to commit and achieve emissions reduction following their local target and country’s NDC, for sustainable climate resilient cities. The GCoM Asia Project timing is between January 2021 and December 2023.

In Vietnam, the project will work with two key partners, the Association of Cities of Vietnam – ACVN and the Institute for Strategy and Policy of Natural Resources and Environment – ISPONRE (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) to implement the trainings and advocacy activities on project thematic areas.

In the preparation process, the project is planning to host a Bilateral Meeting to involve key stakeholders to the implementing project in Vietnam with the following purpose of:

  • Informing the project context, goals, objectives to stakeholders;
  • Discussing the project approaches aligned with the country context;
  • Finalizing the selection of cities to join the GCoM Asia network and project;
  • Finalizing the project work plan.

The meeting will be held on Friday, 8 October 2021 at 14:00 – 15:30 (Hanoi Time/Jakarta Time). This meeting will involve various stakeholders such as:
