Knowledge Management Forum for Indonesian Cities – Mitigation and Adaptation Actions Towards Climate Resilience Development for a Sustainable City

The Knowledge Management Forum is an annual platform for cities across Indonesia to share and learn amongst themselves as well as having dialogue with relevant institutions/agencies focusing on certain thematic topic. Aiming to enable participating city governments to learn from others’ experiences and replicate the best practices suitable to their needs. This year in coordination with IUC Asia, GCoM Southeast Asia Secretariat, UCLG ASPAC, APEKSI and City Tangerang, the Forum will focus on Mitigation and Adaptation Actions Towards Climate Resilience Development for a Sustainable City.

The Forum will invite up to 25 representatives from GCoM cities and local governments under the Climate Change Working Group in Indonesia. The activity will be supported by the European Commission’s Joint Research Center (JRC) as well as by selected GCoM partners (ICLEI, UCLG ASPAC, IUC Asia). During the event, thematic discussion on Mitigation and Adaptation, as well as networking session of the Global Covenant of Mayors will take place in order to promote activities local action on climate change in Indonesia. This includes official signing ceremony of 6 (six) new cities committed to the GCoM, out of which 5 (five) have been selected as pilot for the IUC Asia Project activity.
