The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy Asia

The European Union funds the GCoM Asia Project, covering activities to support GCoM signatory cities in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, adapting to climate change impacts, and accessing to clean and affordable energy.
The geographical scope of activities covered Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam), South Asia, and East Asia (China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea). Activities were implemented by a large number of experts based in Asia and Europe. The project was coordinated by Ms Asih Budiati and Mr Pablo Gándara. The subregional coordination was held by the regional/national GCoM helpdesks (South Asia, South East Asia, Japan and Korea) and supported by the GCoM country coordinators in Thailand (Ms Thunpicha Pinniam), Malaysia (Ms Jacqueline Chang), Indonesia (Ms Isabella Hutasoit), Vietnam (Ms Thao Nguyen), India (Mr Ashish Verma) and China (Ms Jin Jingnan). The project activities were implemented by several technical partners and thematic experts.
The GCoM Southeast Asia Secretariat was a regional secretariat hosted by the United Cities and Local Governments of Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC).
