Cao Lanh City was established under Decree No. 10/2007/NĐ-CP dated 16 January 2007 by the Government. Currently, Cao Lanh occupies a total area of 107.3 km2 with a population of 164,759 people. The city has 15 administrative units, which consist of 8 wards and 7 communes and is bordered by Cao Lanh district on the north and east, Lap Vo district on the south, and Cho Moi district on the west (Official website).
