ISKANDAR PUTERI SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY: Towards a Car-Lite Future Pilot Project
is implemented pursuant to Theme 2 of the Iskandar Puteri Climate Action Plan.

Embedding sustainable urban mobility planning and design principles of climate smart mobility solutions, it seeks to create and implement a walkable and cyclist friendly environment which is safe and secured, comfortable and pleasant which is interactive and engaging for the community. This pilot project impacts 250,000 people living in this comprehensive sub-urban township.

This pilot project seeks to address these six key issues

Iskandar Puteri City Council focal point Mr. Safwan Shaari and colleagues facilitated a meeting between project team members from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Citilinks Group from Netherlands and GCoM Asia project with their Mayor who is very supportive of this pilot project.

Many stakeholder meetings have taken place from 17 to 19 March 2024

The project team members are very motivated to work closely with Iskandar Puteri City Council and stakeholders to implement this pilot project beyond GCoM Asia project for the coming years.

As an update, all three deliverables for this project were submitted on 29 June and approved by the partners.
